Our Graduates
Congratulations to the CLASS OF 2014! We are so proud of the young ladies and gentlemen that you have become. Special congratulations to Valedictorian Anthony Kuntz, Salutatorian Jeff Kopaniasz, Monsignor Quigley Award Winner Anthony Kuntz, and Sister St. Bede Award Winner Macy Jaskiewicz. Good luck to all of our graduates and may you have many blessings in the future.
George Burnet and Emily Smith: George and Emily recently won Mancini Awards for their roles in this year's production of Pippin. George took home the award for Outstanding Leading Actor and Emily the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Both are well deserving of the honor.
Macy Jaskiewicz, Anthony Kuntz, and George Burnet: Macy and Anthony each received $1000 scholarship awards from the Bar Association for essays they wrote and entered into a contest. George received the Randy K. Hareza Award from the Bar Association for being the Best Advocate in Beaver County. George's award also came with a $1000 scholarhip. Congratulations to these 3 outstanding students!
Macy Jaskiewicz: Macy is being honored as the recipient of the Saint Timothy Award. The Saint Timothy Award is a national award given annually in the Diocese of Pittsburgh to four Catholic young people from each Regional Vicariate and one student from each Catholic High School. The student must be a junior or senior and should exemplify the purpose of our Catholic youth programs by showing particular zeal in the improvement of their own youth ministry program, high school ministry team, or youth work in general within the Diocese. The nominee must be a practicing Catholic and exemplify the qualities of moral integrity, prayer, good works, and Christian leadership. Congratulations Macy!
Kevin (Junior) and Katrina (Freshman) Selavko: Their robotics team won 1st place at a Pittsburgh competition and is headed to the FRCWorld Competition during Easter break. They are travelling to St. Louis and competing against teams from Israel, England, Chili, Canada.... Also, the Pittsburgh City Council made a proclamation about their team at the Council on Tuesday, April 15th.
Kristen Jackson (Senior), Kaitlyn Smith (Junior), and Liz Duer (Junior): All three ladies were named to the Beaver County Times All Star Basketball Team. Kristen and Kaitlyn were also named to the All-Section Team and Kristen was picked as MVP of the section.
Cast of Pippin: Congratulations on a GREAT show. The showcase of talent was remarkable.
PJAS Students: The Regional Competition for the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition was held at Slippery Rock University on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Quigley Catholic 1st place winners were Ellen Kruczek (Junior), Anna Majewski (Junior), Megan Matuszak (Sophomore), Hannah Broniszewski (Sophomore), Zoe Miller (Sophomore), Annamarie Lovre (Sophomore), and McKenna Steck (Freshman). Quigley Catholic 2nd place winners were Macy Jaskiewicz (Senior), Emily Cronin (Junior), and Emily Chinchilla (Sophomore). We are proud of all of our students for the hard work they put in to make their projects award winning. All First Place Winners will advance to the State Competition which is held at Penn State University in May of 2014.
