January 2013 Spotlight: QCHS Mock Trial Teams

The Quigley Catholic High School mock trial team entered two teams in the University of Pittsburgh high school mock trial tournament. Forty eight teams from across the state of Pennsylvania participated. The Quigley team of Austin Kuntz, J.J. Hrechun, Jacob Stumm, Kate Straatmann, Anthony Kuntz, Shelby Wasil, Emily Smith, Dom Mastroianni, Jacob Etherson, and Macy Jaskiewicz won first place in the competition. The Quigley team of Jeff Kopaniasz, T.J. Belsterling, Nick Core, Jarek Ingros, Anamarie Lovre, George Burnet, Kaye Burnet, J.P. Lisella, and Emily Cronin won the second place trophy. The team, coached by Tim Waxenfelter, will compete in region II of the statewide mock trial competition.
